Tournament Rules​

Due to umpire availability, MHSAA rules will be followed, with the following exceptions:

1.     Each team is responsible for providing two (2) new, regulation baseballs for EACH game.​
2.     Regulated BBCOR bat rules will be enforced for U15 teams.  No bat requirement will be enforced for U14 teams.​
3.     No new inning may start after 1hr. 50mins.​
4.     Games to be 7 innings if time allows.​
5.     Designated & extra hitter may be used (10 batters max/lineup). The DH may not play defensively at any time during the game.​
6.     Home run limit of 3 per game, with singles awarded thereafter.​
7.     Slaughter rule is 12 after 3, 10 after 4, 8 after 5.​

8.     Ties will not be played out once time has expired. If game is tied after 7 innings and time has not expired, international extra-inning

         rules will be followed. The last player to make an out will be placed at second base with one out in an effort to break the tie. There

         will be no time limit in the championship game.​
9.   To determine standings, the following tie breakers will be used:​
           i. Wins within division (if applicable).​
           ii. Head to head.​
           iii. Runs allowed.​
           iv. Run differential.​
           v. Coin flip, with the team furthest from home calling the toss.​
10.   In the event a coach/player is removed from a game, his/her return to the tournament will be at the umpire’s discretion. They may

        not be allowed further participation.​
11.   MHSAA pitcher/catcher courtesy runner rule will be followed.​
12.   NO PITCHER may pitch over 7 innings per day/10 per tournament. If a pitcher is caught pitching more than the allotted number of

        innings, a forfeit will be declared.​
13.   Championship games will have no time limit, except for the slaughter rule.​
14.   Team and individual awards for champions, team trophies only for runners-up.​
15.   Winning team must turn in score and innings pitched FOR BOTH TEAMS or BOTH teams will be given a loss in bracket play.  Above

        reporting must be made to Matt Naber at 616-366-1418.​
16.   Games may be shortened if dictated by inclement weather conditions. There will be no refunds due to inclement weather.​
